This decision was made on the basis that the judge who was to hear this case today could be biased, since he is the same judge who had previously declared Deimante should be removed from her aunt’s home, by force if necessary.
This is a beautiful—even if short-lived—victory. It is one more victorious battle, still the war still rages onward.
The bad news is that the court still is not addressing the charges of Deimante’s mother selling her to high-ranking-Lithuanian-government-official-pedophiles. Instead, Deimante remains on trial in that the seven-year-old has been ordered to undergo further psychological examinations. Part of what makes this outlandish is the fact that Deimante has already undergone numerous court-ordered psychological examinations, and all of them unanimously validate the child’s testimony, and fear of returning to her mother.
To make matters worse, these psychiatric tests will be performed by “court appointment” rather than mutually agreed upon, independent doctors.
In the meantime, Deimante’s mother’s side is working hard to defraud her aunt, Judge Neringa, by having her stripped of her status as a judge. If this happens, of course, it is much more likely (with Deimante’s father already murdered) for the child to be returned to her mother or placed in a “state” system where she could easily “disappear” as the only witness against those who raped her.
Bottom line, we’ve been given a larger window of opportunity. So I am asking you to help us to garner larger-scale media attention for Deimante. If you have any contacts in that area, please make a direct inquiry and continue to blog and post about her. Let us not forget Deimante. In the meantime, I will keep you abreast of further developments and ask your continued prayers.
Today, we rejoice in great victory of protection for one more battle for the oppressed children of our world!
Love, your sister along the journey,
k

the good news part is amazing!!! I guess you can take what you can at this point and hope that improvements will be made if it ever happens again with anyone in the future.
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful!
ReplyDeletethanks for the updates!
Praise God!! Thanks for the update
ReplyDeleteIs there anyway to get this info to FOX news or CNN or anything like that? I have no contacts.
ReplyDeletePraise God, He is wonderful. He hears our prayers. Would Jay Sekulow at the ACLJ possibly find this a worthy cause to draw attention to? I know his plate is full, and that his focus is primarily on Israel and the Middle East, but he successfully drew attention to Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani's case, and it received enough attention for him to win a stay of execution and a new hearing. God bless. My prayer is that Deimante will come to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through this ordeal! To God be the Glory!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update, We serve a God of Justice! Been thinking so much about this little girl....
ReplyDeleteI thank God for His mercies every morning. Christ is glorified through our prayers and Kimberly's vigilance in making known Deimante's plight. Our God is a God of compassion to the fatherless. He is faithful to prove Himself strong.
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I recently returned home to Houston, Texas from the Passion Conference (268generation) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. CNN picked up the story: http://thecnnfreedomproject.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/05/college-kids-vow-to-end-slavery/
As Kimberly publishes updates here, I am reposting them on facebook and twitter. Last time I tweeted (i.e. posted on twitter): "Free 7 y.o. Deimante from Lithuanian sex trafficking. Pls read: http://bit.ly/z8FSOH #dosomethingnow #endhumantrafficking #passion2012" For those of you familiar with twitter and this generation of young adults, it is the best way to broadcast info publicly, and it allows whoever is interested to join in and pray and/or write protest emails.
Kimberly, thank you again. Blessings to you, Steve
